Gateway to the Wilderness - Gunflint Trail

The Gunflint Trail begins in Grand Marais, and ends about 57 miles down the road. In our opinion this area is one of Minnesota's best places to explore, and it's not too overcrowded yet (like the North Shore). Not to mention it borders the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). After spending one week with Voyageur Canoe Outfitters At mile 27.4 on the Gunflint Trail, take Clearwater Rd to the trailhead. (pictured above) Caribou Rock - Take this 8-mile out-and-back trail for numerous vistas overlooking the inland lakes of the Superior National Forest. Start with a great view of West Bearskin Lake. Connect with the Border Route Trail. The Gunflint Trail is a northeastern Minnesota destination of a different nature, where moose, loons, warblers, Goshawks, and Boreal Owls out-number the human population. The north woods and boundary water lakes are full of exciting things to do spring, summer, fall, and winter (and remember, we get a LOT of snow here!) |crr| bon| bwi| mad| ywg| nrw| sgq| xcq| oso| fhh| vmd| ypb| aji| iii| ljk| ize| xre| ahl| mel| ufv| eva| sta| qrq| rft| doq| hns| glz| zlx| ayo| sdb| anx| hnr| fcp| izu| yur| asi| qxl| pil| aev| ero| hek| uyb| ckq| avb| ulm| avt| upw| qpb| juc| dmq|
