The Emgrand is built on the Geely Auto Group's B-segment Modular Architecture. This platform is also used for the Coolray, and it is designed to meet or surpass all five-star NCAP criteria. Due to BMA's over five million kilometers of test mileage, the Emgrand is expected to have better reliability and longer lifespan. A plug-in hybrid variant called the Emgrand L Hi·X (Emgrand L Leishen Hi·X) was launched in April 2022.
