Nyaya Darshana. Nyāya (Sanskrit ni-āyá, literally "recursion", used in the sense of "syllogism, conclusion") is the name given to one of the six orthodox or astika schools of Hindu philosophy—specifically, the school of logic. The Nyaya school of philosophical speculation is based on texts known as the Nyaya Sutras written by avacchedakata. Nyaya, one of the six systems ( darshan s) of Indian philosophy, important for its analysis of logic and epistemology. The major contribution of the Nyaya system is its working out in profound detail the means of knowledge known as inference ( see anumana ).
