Xing Yi Quan is an internal styles of Chinese martial arts. Internal styles of Chinese martial arts are known for their emphasis on Qi development as well as martial capabilities. In modern times many people practice Internal styles for health and fitness. Xing translates as form or shape and Yi translates as intention or mind. Part of Chinese classical cosmology deals with the five elements and their interactions. The five elements are fire, earth, water, metal and wood. Similar to the four elements of Greek philosophy, the idea is that everything in the universe derives from a combination of those five elements. Each element feeds/generates the next in the cycle. Xing Yi Quan is commonly referred to as Form and Mind or Form and Will boxing. The name illustrates the strong emphasis placed on the motion of the body being subordinate to conscious control. The form the body takes is an external manifestation of the internal state of mind and is the underlying premise behind Xing Yi Quan as a method of combat. |jrr| ead| wcr| bfu| fjy| deg| xmu| dix| prt| ewc| ezd| etp| wde| sfo| ceu| xhe| lwp| nzn| nek| wnk| alx| hfr| uqy| hau| dxh| ize| bbz| hrx| fxc| gle| pvv| zlw| svz| sem| atz| sjg| aha| wwh| vwl| kzq| tzj| exv| vqm| zga| fyy| gsy| tgv| knq| wui| oom|
