The Quartieri Spagnoli were born in the 16th century as a response to the presence of Spanish military troops, as simple as that.If they are known this way it is because they were invaded by a Spanish army following orders from the Crown of Aragón, which for a long time had its eye on the city.It first came under its dominion in the mid-15th century, under the rule of Alfonso V of Aragón. Quartieri Spagnoli ( Neapolitan: Quartieri Spagnuoli; lit. ' Spanish Neighborhoods ') is a part of the city of Naples in Italy. The Neapolitan language is stronger here than anywhere else.
