In spirit and chemistry this was a far different effort than previous American releases (Guinness Gold in 1988; Black Lager in 2011), most crucially it would include the imported yeast from St Introducing Guinness Black Lager, the first lager to roll out of Dublin's St. James Gate brewery with the 'Guinness' name. More like a regular black lager versus a traditional Schwarz, which may have a bit more caramel and creaminess to it.
