TerraVin is a boutique New Zealand winery specializing in Marlborough hillside Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. Terra being Latin for Earth, the name reflects a deep emphasis on terroir. The TerraVin aim is to make wines of complexity, elegance and balance. All vineyards have a signature. The terroir and climatic elements combine to produce TerraVin Marlborough Pinot Noir (2013) I tasted the 2011 to 2013 vintages together in mid-2016. The 2013 (4*) is the finest. Grown in the Southern Valleys (70 per cent in the Calrossie Vineyard, in the southern Wither Hills), it was matured in French oak barriques for over a year, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
