The most-known adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is Disney's 1951 animated film. Filled with imagery, which paints the twisted story from the book like a fairy I adore Svankmajer, consider him one of the real original thinkers in film and animation, etc. Alice is a great compendium of ideas and a wild take on the story, but the soundtrack really grates on me. There's hardly any music and is basically 90 minutes of scraping, banging, pinging, whooshing, pitter-pattering, etc. Feel like I'm listening to This version of Alice in Wonderland from cult surrealist animator Jan Svankmajer then is a welcome change. Jan Svankmajer's Alice should be more considered a creative variation on a common set of characters than an actual adaptation of the book.
