Selina Thompson is a performance artist based in the United Kingdom. Her work is focused on the way that identity shapes our lives and intersects with politics, the environment and topics such as freedom. Her work has been shown at Spill, Fierce, Mayfest, the Birmingham REP and the West Yorkshire Playhouse. [1] Dark and Lovely is a piece of immersive theatre created and performed by 25 year old, Leeds' based performance artist Selina Thompson. First working with East Street Arts, based out of Union 105, in 2013-14 Selina created Dark & Lovely exploring Afro hair by collecting stories in Leeds' Chapeltown's salons and beauty shops.
