The Grindstone Nature Area is located just south of the University of Missouri in Columbia. It is a leash-free area (except on Hinkson Creek Trail) where dogs and their owners can roam around. Grindstone Nature Area encompasses nearly 200 acres of land and features several miles of nature trails, a historic silo and spring house, multi-use trails, a picnic shelter, and space to relax on the grass. The trails are well-maintained and offer a variety of scenery, from open fields to wooded areas. The playground is a great place for kids to burn off some energy, and the picnic area is perfect for a family outing. History.
