Ukko Mobile has selected Huawei to commercially launch 4G LTE service in Finland operating on 450MHz spectrum. In what the network solution provider says as the 'world's first commercial LTE450MHz', the new service covers 'an astonishing 99.9% of the population of Finland and overnight became the network with the best countrywide LTE coverage.' The name Ukko means 'old man'. This suggests something about Ukko's original role in the ancient pre-Christian Finnish religion. He may have been some sort of elder god or perhaps the king of the gods, similar to the role of Zeus in ancient Greek religion.
