I started my walk in the beautiful gardens of Oldway Mansion, located next to Torquay Road. It's interesting to think about the Singer family and their conne Oldway Mansion was built in the late 19th Century for the Singer sewing machine family and the building and grounds are listed for protection because of their historic importance. Completed in Oldway lies within the urban area of Paignton, the house itself standing c 850m west of the coast. The c 7ha site comprises formal gardens around Oldway mansion, with informal pleasure grounds to the east and south, and around Little Oldway to the north-west.
