David Martin; Rudolf Arnheim, The Power of The Center: A Study of Composition in The Visual Arts, The Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism, Volume 41, Iss Rudolf Arnheim (July 15, 1904 - June 9, 2007) was an author, art and film theorist, and perceptual psychologist, as well as Professor Emeritus of the Psychology of Art at Harvard University. His books include Film as Art (California, 1957), Art and Visual Perception: A Psychology of the Creative Eye (California, 1974), The Dynamics of Rudolf Arnheim created an influential new psychology of art by applying the Gestalt principles of perceptual organization to generate deeper understanding of great artistic works.
