Parke is a beautiful country park on the eastern fringe of Dartmoor National Park.The Parke estate lies on the western edge of Bovey Tracey, and the River Bovey runs through the estate.The country park is based around a historic manor house, now used by both the Dartmoor National Park Authority and the National Trust, who look after the estate. The River Bovey starts its journey on the moor above North Bovey, eight miles north-west of Parke. It continues through Parke, into Bovey Tracey, and eventually joins the River Teign. For many centuries it has been used in industry as an important source of water to power Bovey Tracey's historic mills. Activity ideas . Try orienteering The Parke Estate is on the edge of Bovey Tracey and extends for about a mile up the river valley.
