Sokka, born and raised as a warrior in the Southern Water Tribe, was on a fishing trip with his younger sister Katara when they discovered Avatar Aang frozen in an iceberg. After learning that he was the Avatar, the three formed a group and traveled to the North Pole where Aang and Katara could learn waterbending. Sokka was born in the Southern Water Tribe village of Wolf Cove to Chief Hakoda Avatar: Sokka's 10 Greatest Accomplishments. Sokka might be goofy nonbender, but he's also intelligent, strategic, and the most earnest member of Team Avatar who's saved the day many times. Sokka is the only nonbender on Team Avatar, but he's a crucial part of Avatar: The Last Airbender nevertheless.
