The sidequest is extremely important and one of the most rewarding in the game. It consists of six main parts: catching a Chocobo, Chocobo Hot & Cold proper (the digging game with Mene), Chocographs, Dead Pepper treasures, Chocobo's Paradise, and the Chocobo Beach Quest. All six are covered in this section, as they are very closely related. Chocobo's Paradise. After finding all of the Chocographs and digging up their corresponding treasures, it's time to head to Chocobo's Paradise. You'll need a Dead Pepper, an item you can find while playing "Chocobo Hot and Cold."
