August 23, 2023•Hiking. Great trail running along the Poudre River with sights and sounds of cascading water. We went up about 3.5 miles to the little beach area after Grass Creek. Went through a fair amount of burn damage area but abundant wildflowers and new growth help offset the charred trees. With over 1000 established routes along the Poudre River and more being put up every year, the Poudre Canyon is a treasure trove of climbing possibilities. Within a 15-minute drive from Fort Collins, you will find Low Hanging Fruit and Picnic Rock, two crags offering great sport and trad routes ranging from 5.8 to 5.12.
