The Stratfield Hotel The Barnum Museum Built in 1902, The Stratfield Hotel opened on September 5, 1908 at the southwest corner of Main and Chapel Street. The 8-story landmark hotel was one of Bridgeport's tallest buildings, and served as it's premier hotel for decades. A 133-room addition was completed in September 1927. In 1978 it was converted into housing for the elderly and disabled. Today The Colorblends Spring Garden will be open from April 1 - May 12, 2024, seven days a week, dawn to dusk. The House/Gallery will be open from April 1 to May 12, 2024, Tuesday through Sunday, 10am to 4pm.
