The building was taken away from the level crossing at Weston Rhyn in 1991 after the signalling became automatic. It has been stored at the Llangollen railway's Carrog yard since then, ready for Weston Rhyn station shown on a 1:25,000 scale map from 1957. To the north of the station can be seen the Ifton Colliery exchange sidings and heading off from them eastwards is the colliery branch. Looking north along the up platform at Weston Rhyn station in 1950 as an up express service approaches. Beyond the crossing is the Weston Rhyn signal Weston Rhyn is located in the County of Shropshire and the Parish covers villages of Weston Rhyn, Chirk Bank and Rhoswiel plus hamlets such as Bronygarth and the Wern. The 2011 Census records 2,850 inhabitants. Weston Rhyn is recorded as Westune in the Doomsday Book. Tun or ton means settlement or hamlet, rhyn means hill or mount.
