Insular epilepsy can be a great challenge to recognize. Although there is a characteristic semiology involving perioral dysesthesia, pharyngolaryngeal constriction, lateralized sensations, abnormal speech, and somatomotor signs with preserved awareness, many other seizure types are possible because of the widespread connections of the insula. In this supplement, we build on work previously published under the Human Connectome Project. Specifically, we show a comprehensive anatomic atlas of the human cerebrum demonstrating all 180 distinct regions comprising the cerebral cortex.
