The church of St Mary the Virgin is of twelfth-century origin, with fifteenth- and nineteenth-century additions. The living is a vicarage, formerly in the gift of the Marquis of Downshire. The house and holiday cottages have views across the village to the farm's arable fields. Dating back to the 17th century, the Manor House has been handed down through both paternal and maternal forbears, the Lowsleys and the Betts.
