デザインスタジオconway mill belfast

Project Summary. Conway Mill was formally an old flax spinning mill owned by one of Belfast's linen barons and is a product of both the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Located just off the Lower Falls Road it consists of two main mill blocks (with four/five levels) and four outbuildings (with two levels) comprising a total of 93,270 sq. ft. The new machinery was made by Belfast's James Mackie and Sons. With the move away from linen to cotton and synthetic fibres, the linen industry declined and the mill closed in 1976. In the 1980s Conway Community Enterprises purchased the mill, which had lain vacant for nearly a decade. The buildings were derelict and had been badly vandalized.
