Comenzó su formación en la madrileña Escuela Superior de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado de San Fernando, donde fue alumno y discípulo de Joaquín Araujo. Remitió asiduamente sus obras a las Manresa, Spain, 1867-Barcelona, 1937. Josep Dalmau was an art dealer, antiquarian, and artist.
