Begin from the base of Cannon Mountain and cross under I-93 to access the start of the Greenleaf Trail. It is mostly wooded with the occasional partial view until around the 2 1/2 mile mark, at which point things really begin to open up and there are constant views. You will pass the Greenleaf Hut before continuing uphill to Mount Lafayette. Tucked away in the hills of eastern Oklahoma, Greenleaf State Park offers spectacular scenery and is a family-friendly state park. The park includes Lake Greenleaf as well as cabins, campgrounds, family recreation facilities and nature hiking trails. This 18 mile loop was designed for overnight backpacking, but the lower portion is enjoyed equally by day hikers.
