Introducing Peter Hammond. Peter was born in Cape Town (in 1960) and brought up in Bulawayo (in what was then war-torn Rhodesia - now Zimbabwe ). He was converted to Christ in 1977, worked in Scripture Union and Hospital Christian Fellowship, served in the South African Defence Force and studied at Baptist Theological College, (now Cape Town Dr Peter Hammond Consultant Endocrinologist, based in Leeds & Harrogate. Dr Hammond qualified from Oxford university in 1987 and trained mostly at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School before becoming a consultant physician specialising in diabetes and endocrinology in Harrogate in 1996. However, Sandra Dudley, DSN at Harrogate District Hospital (Figure 2), was intrigued and listened to what her visitor had to say.
