In 1922, the Naval Supply Depot, San Diego was formally established. A small pier was constructed and the first materials were moved into the Depot's warehouse in February 1923. In 1941, the current Navy Pier was built and a south wing added to the original six-story supply depot. A seven-story warehouse was constructed alongside in 1943. All Department of the Navy (DON) financial UICs are assigned by the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS) for the Navy Comptroller. The financial UIC is used for units at or above the Sub-Operating Budget (Sub-OpBud) level. In the Marine Corps, when a unit is created at this level of accounting, HQMC (LP) requests a UIC from DFAS for the unit. The DODAAD Update Application is a web-based replacement of the batch update to the Master DODAAD database. The master DODAAD contains the names and addresses of activities which must be identified in the DoD standard logistics transactions.
