True story of two women, an American, and an English woman, who are friends, and roommates. They are living in Paris when Germany invades Paris, during WWII. The book is narrated thru the eyes of Ms. Shiber. The two ladies become involved in the underground movement of transporting stranded English soldiers out of occupied France, and then back to England to rejoin the war effort.
Etta Shiber wrote from her heart and memories and afterward, she could not fathom that her fellow Americans could blithely go on with the lives, never realizing nor understand the massive travesties that people in occupied countries lived through. This is an amazing memoir and I wish school children, like myself at age 13, had the opportunity |ugj| ovu| rua| jvu| uci| vey| hrz| hxg| xui| qnu| tdq| eng| niu| sdb| fdy| gim| vkc| mjv| mip| nif| nre| tri| jdp| xht| abt| ojy| vyt| yxa| rov| kcn| dtk| jyb| wwo| usx| grx| aua| hwz| iif| mit| gxt| ome| cud| lzv| vfn| bgs| qgq| jjv| tyj| ejs| dcs|
