Synopsis. By the coastal belts of Bangladesh, in a small village named 'Sutarkhali,' RAKHI lives with her man SOUMEN (32) and their son RAHUL (6). Fighting against all the odds of the woods, along with around 100 families, they cultivated the land for generations until a tidal surge hit the coastal belts of Bangladesh. (Shunte Ki Pao!) Life for the inhabitants of Sutarkhali in Bangladesh has never been easy. For generations they have cultivated a difficult terrain, eking out an existence off the land. But when a tidal surge hit, this village saw homes destroyed, harvests ruined, and the inhabitants forced off the land. This doc follows one family's attempt to Shunte Ki Pao had its world premiere held at the 55th DOK Leipzig in Germany where it won the "Curtain-Opener" of the festival in 2012.
