Roy P. Drachman is synonymous with the development of his native Tucson. Born at the family home on July 31, 1906, he was raised and educated in Tucson. Roy's father, Emanuel Drachman, who brought the first motion picture projector to Arizona, became seriously ill at the beginning of Roy's sophomore year at the University of Arizona, and I am the longest tenured principal in Pima County and I started my principalship at Drachman in 2006. I obtained my Ph.D. in 2003 from the University of Arizona. My own children have and will attend Drachman, as well as other Drachman staff members, and we consider ourselves a true family of educators.
