The Southdown sheep is uniquely different from any other breed. It is characterised by its body shape and size, wool type, head shape and face and leg colour. Based on a 50% killing out percentage, this gives a carcase weight of 16-22kg. How long it takes a lamb to reach a finished weight depends on both nutrition and the breed "type".
