Ammari electronics, et al. V. Pacific bell directory We obtained a $27 million judgment against an AT&T subsidiary after a jury trial and two successful appeals. We brought this breach of contract class action on behalf of thousands of California businesses that advertised in Pacific Bell yellow pages directories between February 2002 and May 2004. In a published opinion, the Ninth Circuit stated its certification request and noted that our answer to the certified question would determine the remaining portion of the case pending before it. (Asmus v. Pacific Bell (9th Cir. 1998) 159 F.3d 422, 423-425.) The court agreed to abide by our answer. (Id. at p. 425.) II. Discussion Beaver v. Tarsadia Hotels, 816 F.3d 1170 (9th Cir.), cert. denied, 137 S. Ct. 113, 196 L. Ed. 2d 41 (2016). The developers then alleged malpractice against their former lawyers at Greenberg Traurig, which later contributed $41 million to the settlement.
