When Civitan incorporated for expansion in 1920, it included international in the name as an indicator of a higher purpose. It wasn't long before the dream became a reality. The first international club was chartered in Switzerland in 1922 followed by a club in Ontario. Although these clubs folded during the Great Depression, Civitan expanded October 2023. The CitiCar is a car produced from 1974 to 1977 by Sebring, Florida -based Sebring-Vanguard, Inc. After being bought out by Commuter Vehicles, Inc, Sebring-Vanguard produced the similar Comuta-Car and Comuta-Van from 1979 to 1982.
