City of Aurora's Festival of Lights at Phillips Park • Aurora, IL. A holiday tradition for fifteen years and counting, the City of Aurora Festival of Lights in historic Phillips Park is one of the largest free outdoor holiday light displays in northern Illinois. The Festival of Lights is a signature winter event with unique surprises Open Thursday- Tuesday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Closed on Wednesdays. The zoo is closed on Thanksgiving Day November 23rd, the day after Thanksgiving November 24th, Christmas Eve Demeber 24th & Christmas Day December 25th, New Years Eve December 31st and New Years Day January 1st.
