本研究の目的は，小学校における英語学習開始時に，児童が英語の文字の形態・名称・音の知識をどの程度有しているかを明らかにすることである。. 私立小学校1 年生の児童を対象に， (1) 正しい文字の形態を選択するタスク， (2) A からZ までの文字の名称 Test scores among these groups were compared and the statistical data show that students in Group (1) outperformed students in the other three groups, and students in Groups (2) and (3) outperformed students in Group (4).
