Universiti Malaysia Perlis (abbreviated as UniMAP) is a Malaysian public institution of higher learning located in Perlis.It was previously known as Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan Utara Malaysia (Northern Malaysia University College of Engineering, abbreviated as KUKUM). It was established as the 17th Public Institution of Higher Learning in Malaysia on 25 July 2001. The establishment of National Heritage Department of Malaysia in year 2006 has shown the government's effort to appreciate the existing of heritage buildings in Malaysia. Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) is Malaysia's 17th public institution of higher learning. Approved by the Malaysian Cabinet in May 2001, it started off as a university college - Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan Utara Malaysia (KUKUM).
