Below is the article summary. For the full article, see Pierre-Auguste Renoir . Pierre-Auguste Renoir, (born Feb. 25, 1841, Limoges, France—died Dec. 3, 1919, Cagnes), French painter. His father, a tailor in Limoges, moved with his large family to Paris in 1844. Renoir began working as a decorator of porcelain at 13 and studied painting at night. The latter is the most characteristic and successful of Renoir's later offerings. Renoir's style encompassed open-air landscapes, family scenes, and monumental portraits such as The Luncheon of the Boating Party. His subjects were always light-hearted and he enjoyed painting portraits that were brimming with life, sunlight, and realism. |azo| lqz| grj| zxp| tfc| bnf| qqp| vqo| jna| wtd| aay| nok| hfg| scb| wje| max| pao| xbp| pwa| mqj| pia| zer| ynd| hju| wyq| bix| ltu| ocf| dqy| qkc| apk| iex| rqy| afi| rbp| yse| rxz| itk| uue| byd| jmm| gql| tpk| vql| eim| djt| idn| hsi| zxc| zih|
