1. Ruh Ordo Cultural Center. 141. Civic Centres. Cultural Center "Ruh Ordo" named after Chyngyz Aytmatov (Kyrgyz famous writer), complex is located in Cholpon-Ata. Complex includes 5 chapels of the 4 major religions of the world: Christianity (Catholic and Orthodox), Islam, Buddhism, Judaism. Kyrgyzstan has several sites with ancient petroglyphs. Cholpon-Ata is the most accessible one which also makes it the most degraded. Although called Museum, don't be surprised it is an open air field. The site is kind of enclosed on the hills north of the Issyk-kul lake and the petroglyps depict the hunting of deer, snow leopard and ibexes. The city of Cholpon Ata is located on the northern shore of Lake Issyk Kul, 265 km east of Bishkek. There are about 11 000 inhabitants. The city is known for its sandy beach, seaside resorts and hosts many tourists in the summer. Tourists come mainly from countries of the former USSR.
